The Columbus Fire Department is looking for young artists to create a poster for next month’s Fire Prevention Week, October 8-14.
This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 ways out!”
The contest is open to children 12 and younger. Posters must be on 8 1/2 by 11 paper and may be created using pen, pencil, colored pencil, crayon or paint. Children must include their name, age and telephone number on the back of their poster.
The winning poster will be announced on October 5th, and will receive 5 tickets to Holiday World & Splashing Safari courtesy of White River Broadcasting Company. The winner will be announced on the Columbus Fire Department and White River Broadcasting Company Stations’ Facebook pages.
Posters should be dropped off at the fire department’s administrative offices at 11th and Jackson Streets by 4 pm October 4th. The offices are open 7-4 Monday through Friday.
