Kenny Chesney Scores Record-Extending 33rd No. 1 On Country Airplay Chart

Kenny Chesney’s new single, “Take Her Home” has become the country superstar’s 33rd number one hit on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. “Take Her Home” is the lead single from Chesney’s recent Top 5 Country Album, Born. The track was written by Michael Hardy, Zach Abend, and Hunter Phelps, and was co-produced by Chesney and his longtime collaborator, Buddy Cannon. Chesney adds to his existing record for most number ones on the Country Airplay charts, followed by Tim McGraw and his 29 No. 1s, with Blake Shelton’s 28 chart-topping hits close behind.

Chesney is currently on a big U.S. tour, having just played a high profile show at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday night along with special guests Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker. Chesney is set to play Noblesville, Indiana, on June 20, followed by Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 22. (Billboard)
