Kix Brooks Bids A Fond Farewell To American Country Countdown After 18 Years At The Helm
Kix Brooks has been the host of American Country Countdown (ACC) for the past 18 years, helping shape the direction and sound of contemporary country as it has become more popular than ever before. But the celebrated broadcaster announced on Monday (November 25) that he is stepping away from the show, and that his final episodes of ACC will be broadcast during the weekend of December 28-29, 2024. Brooks is a multiple CMA and ACM National Broadcast Personality Award-winner, and he will leave behind a legacy of expertise and caretaking regarding country music that will be impossible to replicate. While he leaves ACC behind, he will still be writing and recording country songs, as well as touring with Brooks & Dunn. “I never dreamed I would be asked to host a legendary international radio show like American Country Countdown,” Brooks shared. “It’s been an honor, to say the least, that I was trusted with a microphone that had such an iconic history.” (All Country News)
