Anna Kendrick Donated All Of Her ‘Woman Of The Hour’ Pay To Anti-Violence Charities

Anna Kendrick made her directorial debut with Woman Of The Hour, but chose to donate all of her pay to RAINN and the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime, stating that the film was never a money-making venture for her. Reflecting on her decision during an appearance on the Crime Junkie AF podcast, Kendrick explained that as conversations about the film started involving money, she felt “gross” profiting from it. The film, which premiered on Netflix, depicts the true story of Cheryl Bradshaw’s encounter with serial killer Rodney Alcala on the show The Dating Game. Kendrick, who also stars in the film, played a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s success after deals initially fell through, earning praise from the screenwriter for her directorial contributions.
