Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan Win Big At MTV Video Music Awards

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards took place last night in New York, hosted by Megan Thee Stallion. Taylor Swift was the top winner, earning 7 trophies out of 12 nominations and surpassing Beyoncé’s total career VMA wins (25) with a total of 30. Swift, whose wins included Artist Of The Year and Song Of The Summer (‘Fortnight’) is also now the first artist to win Video Of The Year five times (this time for ‘Fortnight). Chappell Roan picked up Best New Artist. Eminem, Tyla, and Megan Thee Stallion all won two awards each while Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Benson Boone, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter and SZA all took home one. Beyoncé, who had 3 nominations, did not win anything. The ceremony also featured elaborate performances by LL Cool J, Eminem, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, Halsey and many others.
