Domestic disturbance turns to stabbing in Hope

A domestic dispute in Hope turned into a stabbing incident with a teenager involved.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, a 42-year-old man was stabbed multiple times by the boy Tuesday night. Deputies were called to the incident at about 10:26 p.m. Tuesday night in the 100 block of Schaefer Court.

They say that the victim of the stabbing was involved in a physical confrontation with another resident, when the 17-year-old stabbed the man in the back multiple times. The victim was taken to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

The teen suspect was taken into custody at the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center. He is facing charges of battery causing serious bodily injury.

The name of the juvenile has not been released.
