Seymour police interrupt interstate marijuana route
Seymour police say that they recovered more than a pound and a half of marijuana products worth more than $5,000 during a traffic stop.
According to the Seymour Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on East Tipton Street at about 2:27 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Officers say that they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside, leading to a search of the vehicle. Inside they found marijuana, including in vape pens, wax form and in gummies.
Police say that the driver, 53 year old Melissa K. Herron of Chicago was transporting the drugs from Chicago to Alabama. She was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in and possessing marijuana.
