Veterans suicide prevention group offering area seminars

A North Vernon organization will be holding seminars on suicide prevention for veterans today.

North Vernon Vet 2 Vet will be hosting the seminars in Jackson and Jennings Counties Thursday. The sessions will be presented by the Indianapolis and Louisville VA Medical Centers. The event is open to all first responders, government officials, veterans and family members with an in interest in the Mental Health of veterans.

The first session presented by the Louisville VA will be in the Council Chambers at Seymour City Hall on Chestnut Street from 10 to 11 a.m. The second session will be at the Jennings County Public Library on State Road 3 in North Vernon from 1 to 2 p.m. with the Indianapolis VA.

The motto of Vet 2 Vet is “Each One, Reach One, Teach One” with reacclimating veterans, reconnecting their bonds with family and friends and living a healthier life.
